Establish the Relationship
People buy from people they know and trust. So spend some time on getting to know your customer, and establishing your validity. Give him reasons to deal with you.
Home-based business has pros and cons. The 30 second commute and the flexibility to fit a number of schedules and priorities takes it's toll in isolation, lack of a back up when you have to make a choice between contracts, or need an industry source or need to talk to someone who "gets it" when you hit the wall.
How do I get more sales? The answer is obvious; go see more people. Sales is a numbers game, the more you put in the funnel at the top, the more chance you have of success. That's not to say that you should go around willy-nilly trying to sell your product or service to everyone, It's a waste of time. A better path to greater success is thinking creatively about which activities you can put in place to create more business. Ask yourself, "What can I DO to create more business?"

The Value of Lists
There are professional organizers who create workable spaces and coaches to help people achieve their goals. As an Entrepreneur, you are visual and one of the key things you can do to help yourself stay organized and achieve your goals is make lists. If you can see everything, you can prioritize, complete tasks and feel you have achieved something in your day or week resulting in a reduction in your stress level.
People continually ask me for sales tips. As someone with a successful career in Sales and Marketing for what seems like forever, it’s difficult to answer. It’s hard work, and you have to grow a very thick skin.
Trade Shows are a great opportunity for owners of small and medium sized businesses to meet people they otherwise might not have the chance to meet. Local Chambers of Commerce often have a Small Business Showcase at least once a year. Unfortunately, Entrepreneurs often leave opportunities undiscovered because they don’t follow simple rules. Your Elevator Speech is your first sales pitch to someone new and you want to take the opportunity to make it meaningful. You must be flexible and remember who the listener is. Remember “What’s In It For Me” (WIFM).
