I stood up and said,”I don’t have a business, my business is to find a job!” I explained a bit about the course I had just finished and sat down. Right after dinner one of the women came and asked a bit more about the course and my experience and said, “I want you in my office tomorrow morning with your résumé.” By the end of May I was working as her Administrative Assistant.

Had Margaret not impressed upon me the tremendous importance of networking, I would have stayed home that night and missed an exciting job opportunity.
